Lake Razval

Lake Razval a lake with saline water that is saturated by 200 to 300 grams per liter of salt. It is located on the southern outskirts of the city Sol-Iletsk 70 kilometers south of Orenburg. The lake is man-made origin. Earlier there was Iletsk salt dome at this place. In the mid-eighteenth century its industrial development began. In one hundred and fifty years in the place of the mountain have appeared a vast basin having depth of tens of meters. In April 1906 it was submerged by flood waters of the river Gerbils, and a lake Razval has formed, half of its banks are composed of rock salt. Because the salinity of the water, the Razval does not freeze even in the most severe frosts, but has negative temperature in the depth throughout the year. There is a permafrost in the bottom of the lake. The Razval is a recognized resort, tourists come here from all over the Urals. The bank of the lake has a developed tourism infrastructure on it.
